Blood Brothers Theatre Trip

On Thursday 6 March, Year 11 GCSE Drama students attended the 'New Wimbledon Theatre' to see the powerful all time classic musical 'Blood Brothers.' The production explored the themes of social class, poverty, friendship, loyalty, fate, superstition and finally, nature verses nurture.The plot follows the genre of a tragicomedy about twin brothers who were separated at birth and the different lifestyles they endure growing up in such different families. The playwright 'Willy Russell' asks several questions of the audience, particularly about how equal our society is. Furthermore, exposing the socio-political issues connected to how much our life experiences affect the opportunities we have in life.The theatre trip was aimed at supporting the Year 11 students with their upcoming GCSE exam,as it will be a set text within their written paper. The students were a credit to Blenheim and an enjoyable evening was had by all.
