Year 7 House Netball
Posted on: 02/12/2024The Year 7 House Netball Competition was filled with skill, teamwork, and sportsmanship. With
all four houses competing in a round-robin format, each team played each other twice. The
matches were tightly contested, providing plenty of excitement for all teams.
Round 1
Court 1: Octavius vs. Nashwan (0–5)
Nashwan dominated the first match with a powerful display of teamwork and precision. Their
strong defense kept Octavius scoreless, while their shooters made the most of their chances to
secure a confident 5–0 victory.
Court 2: Sinndar vs. Tulyar (1–1)
This was a closely fought game with both teams showing determination. Sinndar struck first, but
Tulyar quickly leveled the score. Despite several near misses from both teams, the game ended
in a fair 1–1 draw.
Round 2
Court 1: Octavius vs. Sinndar (3–0)
Octavius bounced back from their earlier loss with an impressive performance. Their shooters
found their rhythm, scoring three well-worked goals. Sinndar fought hard but struggled to break
through Octavius's solid defense.
Court 2: Nashwan vs. Tulyar (3–1)
Nashwan continued their strong form, outpacing Tulyar with quick passes and accurate shooting.
Tulyar managed to score once but couldn’t match Nashwan's consistent pressure, leading to a 3–
1 Nashwan win.
Round 3
Court 1: Octavius v Tulyar (1–0)
In a tense match, Octavius edged out Tulyar in a game dominated by defense. A single goal
proved decisive, with Octavius holding firm to secure their second win of the evening.
Court 2: Sinndar v Nashwan (3–1)
Sinndar delivered a standout performance, turning the tables on Nashwan. Their energy and
precision proved too much for Nashwan, with Sinndar claiming a well-earned 3–1 victory.
Round 4
Court 1: Octavius v Nashwan (0–1)
The rematch between Octavius and Nashwan was far closer than their first encounter. Octavius
showed significant improvement in defense but couldn’t find the net. A single goal from
Nashwan ensured their narrow win.
Court 2: Sinndar v Tulyar (3–0)
Sinndar controlled this game from start to finish. Their passing and shooting were on point, while
their defense shut down Tulyar’s attacks. Sinndar’s dominant 3–0 victory reflected their growing
confidence.
Round 5
Court 1: Octavius v Sinndar (0–2)
In a reversal of their earlier match, Sinndar came out on top in this game. Their sharp
interceptions and consistent shooting ability secured a 2–0 victory, showing their ability to adapt
and improve.
Court 2: Nashwan v Tulyar (2–1)
This was a fiercely contested game, with Tulyar determined to challenge Nashwan’s dominance.
Despite their efforts, Nashwan’s teamwork and clinical finishing ensured a hard-fought 2–1 win.
Round 6
Court 1: Octavius v Tulyar (1–1)
Octavius and Tulyar both put up a fight in their last match. Both teams displayed strong defense
and managed to score once, resulting in a well-earned 1–1 draw.
Court 2: Sinndar v Nashwan (2–1)
Sinndar completed a brilliant turnaround from their first-round loss to Nashwan. With swift
movement and confident shooting, they secured a 2–1 victory in an intense game.

Nashwan dominated the first game (5–0) but faced tougher opposition in the rematch, narrowly
winning 1–0. Octavius improved their defense significantly.
Sinndar v Tulyar
The first encounter ended in a 1–1 draw, but Sinndar showcased their growth, winning the
second match decisively (3–0).
Octavius v Sinndar
Octavius won their first game (3–0), but Sinndar adapted brilliantly to take the rematch (2–0).
Nashwan v Tulyar
Nashwan remained consistent, winning both matches, though the second game (2–1) was much
closer than the first (3–1).
The Year 7 House Netball Competition was a fantastic event filled with excitement and
enjoyment. All teams displayed great skill and determination, making every match a joy to
umpire. Congratulations to Sinndar and Nashwan for their standout performances, and well
done to Octavius and Tulyar for their resilience and team spirit.
A huge thank you to Miss Smith for helping to organise and run the event and to our Year 13
student Bonnie, whose excellent timekeeping and scorekeeping ensured the tournament ran
smoothly.
The results
For this particular tournament, points were based on goals. Further points were also awarded to
teams and individuals who demonstrated strong leadership, communication, community and
care. Therefore, Octavius placed 4th with 6 points, Sinndar placed 3rd with 9 points, Tulyar in 2nd
with 12 points, and our winners today were Nashwan with 13 points.
