Year 8 Surrey Girls' Cup Fixture

Posted on: 10/12/2024

The Year 8 Girls’ Football team took part in their first Surrey Cup Fixture, and despite their hard-
fought efforts, were narrowly defeated by Rodborough. It was a competitive match from the very
first minute with both teams creating several chances to score, but ultimately, the game
remained tightly contested throughout. The girls showed incredible resilience, not letting the
pressure of the game affect their performance. They worked tirelessly, with every player giving
their best, demonstrating excellent teamwork and determination.

Although the final result was not in Blenheim’s favour, the girls can take a lot of positives from the
match. They created several opportunities to score, their attacking play was sharp, and they
showed promising combinations in the final third. The defence, despite being under pressure at
times, stood strong and remained determined.

Imogen was named MVP for her excellent performance. She played a key role in both defence
and attack often stepping up in critical moments and making some crucial tackles and passes.
Her leadership on the pitch and the ‘never-give-up’ attitude were vital to the team's spirit
throughout the game.

Congratulations to all girls for their fantastic performance. Every student gave their best and it
was clear to see their effort and passion throughout the game.
