This week, the Drama Department took A-Level Theatre Studies students to see the outstanding production of War Horse at The New Wimbledon Theatre. Students were delivered an extra treat, as whilst the cast received a standing ovation, all of a sudden, the director Tom Morris walked out on stage and introduced the one and only Michael Morpurgo. Students were also privileged to listen to the renowned author talk about how the story of War Horse evolved and his personal intentions for writing the novel. Morpurgo went on to explain how he collaborated with the Puppetry Director Adrian Kohler for Handspring Puppet Company, in order to bring the animals to life on stage. As expected, our students behaved in an exemplary way and were a credit to the school. A wonderful evening was had by all.
