Harry, Tyler, Rocco Liam and Finn represented Blenheim High School in the Year 8 NSSSA SportsHall Athletics Competition, which was held at Esher High School. Many of the team competed in this event last year, so they knew what to expect. They definitely used this to their advantage as the team achieved some fantastic scores. Unfortunately, due to illness/absences we were unable to take the girls team.

The boys competed in many fun and thrilling events. We kicked off the afternoon with the obstacle relay. Harry, Tyler, Liam and Finn had to perform a forward roll, sprint in and out of the cones, perform 10 speed bounces, hurdle over some obstacles and then sprint back to tag their partner. Unfortunately, Tyler sustained an injury during the race, so was unable to compete in his later events. The team stepped in and were able to compete in his place. Liam achieved an impressive first place in the 6-lap race, which was incredible to watch! Other races included the 2,4 and 6 lap relays, followed by the 8 lap paarlauf. Our field events included shot put, standing long jump, standing triple jump and speed bounce. The team did very well in all of their single and team events. They should be proud of themselves. 

Throughout the entire competition, the team were cheering and supporting each other. I am alsovery impressed with the support the boys showed towards Tyler, to aid him with his injury. It was a fantastic afternoon, filled with lots of fun and fierce competition.
