In a close game it was Itchen who took the lead in this NYFL Cup game after 20 minutes. By half time they had doubled the lead and Chelsea FC Blenheim found themselves 2-0 down.
With 45 minutes to save their Cup run the girls dug deep and, after 30 minutes, made a breakthrough with Gaby scoring a crucial goal. Itchen managed the game well and a moment of magic from Megan almost drew Chelsea FC Blenheim level, but a great save from the Itchen goalkeeper kept the score at 2-1 resulting in Itchen progressing to the quarter finals.
Next week Chelsea FC Blenheim host AFC Sudbury and the Development Team travel south to Brighton and Hove College.
