Last week, a group of 23 Blenheim musicians travelled to the London Coliseum to see 'The Pirates of Penzance' - Gilbert and Sullivan's beloved operetta. This well-loved work tells the swashbuckling tale of Frederick (an apprentice pirate) who woos Mabel (the Major General's daughter), while his bungling shipmates try to outwit a group of policemen. The set was quite minimalistic but very effective, and the music and singing were sublime. Pupils had an enjoyable and fantastic experience. Thank you to Mrs McCreery who accompanied us on this trip.
