Miss Green took all of the year 12 and 13 English Literature students to Ewell Library for an author talk with Eve Smith. Eve Smith has written three dystopian texts surrounding current issues of genetic engineering, climate change and AI. The session was a riveting interview led by the library staff and then followed up with a question and answer session that allowed our students to ask probing and insightful questions. Following this, there was an opportunity to buy signed copies of all of her texts and to meet her in person. This was a wonderful opportunity to delve in to the genre related to The Handmaid’s Tale that students study in year 13 of the course.It was a wonderful end to the week and the students thoroughly enjoyed it. We look forward to the next visit!
