SOUTHBOROUGH HIGH 12 v 5 BLENHEIM HIGH

Blenheim travelled to Southborough High to take part in a Year 9 friendly Rugby fixture. Both teams started the match well, however, Southborough scored the opening try within the first 10 minutes. A quick conversion left the score 7-0 to Southborough. Blenheim quickly responded from a fast-kick chase which forced a knock-on effect from the home team. Blenheim used their physical attributes to ‘crash ball’ and repeatedly carry over the gain line, before quickly passing to the wider channels to score a well-executed try. The try was unconverted, which left the score line 7-5 to Southborough. Shortly before the first half ended, Southborough managed to run the ball out from their own 22’ scoring the final try of the half. The try was unconverted, which left the score line: Blenheim 5–12 Southborough.
The second half was very evenly matched with no trys scored.

Well done to the Year 9 Rugby team who played exceptionally against a very good team.
