This week, the Year 8 & 9 girls' Basketball team played in their first tournament against other Surrey schools.

For most of the girls on the team, this was the first competitive game of Basketball they had played outside of their PE lessons or weekly club and it was a steep learning curve.

It was clear from the outset that the other schools were very well drilled and had some extremely talented players. Whilst the girls didn’t win any of their games, they made small but noticeable improvements to their offence and defence each round.

Given the mammoth challenge that they were up against, I am extremely proud of the effort and resilience each player showed by not giving up and playing hard until the very end.

Well done to Jess, Annabelle, Lydia, Sophia, Riley, Sophie, Elaina, Gemma and Ameerah. A special thank you to Mrs Tibble, who volunteered her time to drive the mini bus to the venue. A real #TeamBlenheim effort from all!
