Chelsea FC Blenheim welcomed high flying Northampton Town to Blenheim this week in a top of the table clash. The sides started the game on equal points, so it promised to be a close game.

Chelsea FC Blenheim started sluggishly and found themselves 3 goals down and with their backs against the wall in the first 45 minutes. The girls struggled to create chances in the final third and a powerful Northampton were clinical when they created chances.

The second half saw fortunes change, but unfortunately not the result. Chelsea FC Blenheim found the net 5 times in reply to a further 4 goals from Northampton Town. Chelsea FC Blenheim's goal scorers were Amelia A, Luna, Frances with 2 and Ava, who scored her first goal for the academy side.

The girls will need to dust themselves off quickly as they travel to George Abbot on Friday to start the defence of the Surrey Cup.
