On Sunday, 12th June, Blenheim hosted Epsom Division Guides for their first Football Festival.

The morning began with the arrival of 40 Guides aged 10-14 from across Epsom and Ewell and 8 of theBlenheim Chelsea Academy girls were charged with the coaching for the day. The morning saw the three teams undertake a carousel of coaching drills including tactics, shooting, passing and rules.

A quick lunch recharged the teams for an afternoon of matches with each team being coached from the sidelines by one of our Blenheim Chelsea Academy girls. Local families joined the event to cheer on their daughters and the Guides were even challenged to take on their coaches for a fun match halfway through. Needless to say, the coaches won!

In true Girlguiding fashion the blue and purple teams were joint winners overall with the yellow team coming a close second. Everyone taking part was awarded with a bespoke Football Festival badge and we’re looking forward to next year already.
