ASHCOMBE SCHOOL 6 - 2 BLENHEIM HIGH SCHOOL

The Year 7 Girl’s football team played against Ashcombe school. The conditions were difficult, with rain pouring down and very wet muddy pitch. Ashcombe’s attackers were quick to act and within the first 3 minutes Martha French had made an amazing 3 saves.

With Martha, Freya, Maja and Sarrinah defending off strong strikers the game proved to be a difficult one. Blenheim continued to work hard with Evie up front trying her hardest to make an attempt at goal.

At half time the score was 2-0 with conditions worsening and the pitch becoming really slippery.

In the second half, Blenheim went out with a bang, with Evie scoring Blenheim's first goal, assisted by Leah. Evie had won a free kick in Blenheim's attacking end and finished with a fantastic shot at goal. The pressure continued with Evie scoring an amazing goal from a free kick outside the box, souring past the goalies outstretched arms. Even the other school congratulated Evie for this amazing shot.

Unfortunately, towards the end of the game Ashcombe went on the score more and took advantage of the challenging conditions, and tiring legs. Well done girls.
