Epsom & Ewell Foodbank Appeal

Posted on: 09/09/2021

Message from Epsom & Ewell Foodbank

Blenheim families and staff we cannot thank you enough. Since February 2021 you have supported us with food and toiletry donations. Everything you donated has helped us to provide 718 meals this term and a huge total of 2056 meals since February 2021. In the past 12 months due to the challenges of living through a global pandemic we have fed more than 12,000 people, many of them families with school aged children so your help has been extremely appreciated. The foodbank does not just provide food but also supports families by providing a listening ear, guidance, helping with energy top ups, providing furniture, assistance, and help liaising with other agencies. If you would like to continue donating to support Foodbank through the summer holidays you can find out what’s needed on the ‘Blenheim Friends-for parents and carers of Blenheim High School’ Facebook page and drop donations to ‘all things nice’ in Ewell Village or Sainsburys in Ewell Village or straight to our centre, Epsom and Ewell Foodbank, Generation Resource centre, Ruxley lane, Ewell, KT19 OJG (the same driveway as West Ewell Primary School) Monday to Friday 9-2pm.

If you would prefer to you can text to donate the details can be found at:

If you need our help please don’t hesitate to contact us. We know the initial contact is the hardest but I promise you you’ll find a non-judgemental listening ear and we will do our best to help you. Please see the details on the ‘we’re here to help’ poster. Here’s a quote from one of our clients as to how we’ve helped her family:

‘Before covid myself and my partner were both employed and providing for our little girl. In the second lockdown my partner was made redundant. Any redundancy pay he had was used fixing our only car and we weren’t receiving any help from Universal credit. We were literally falling behind with bills very quickly as my salary wasn’t enough to fully support us. I contacted the foodbank and although it was a difficult call to make I’m so glad I did because the relief I felt by having someone that listened and offered support was exactly what I needed as I didn’t know where to turn. I’m so overwhelmed by the support there has been with food and helping me to access funds they’ve literally been a lifesaver’
