Following her recent success in a half Ironman, Mrs Pickett has now been officially selected to compete as part of the GB age group team in Austria 2020.

The event will comprise a 1.9km lake swim, followed by a testing (which means hilly!) 56 mile cycle ride and as if that is not enough, it will then be rounded off with a 13.1 mile run.

Athletes are eligible for selection if they complete an event within 115% of the winner of their age group. Mrs Pickett qualified with a second place at less than 101% behind the winner.

Mrs Pickett found out the fantastic news after a very wet 4 hour cycle ride and it is rumoured that her ‘squeals’ of delight could be heard for miles. Needless to say she is both excited and honoured to have this opportunity and will wear her GB kit with pride.
