Over the Easter weekend, our Taekwondo Champ, Year 9 student Leyla, travelled to Bulgaria for The Sofia Open G1 Competition.

After a very tough final she lost 5-4 coming away with her 3rd G1 medal in a row. This will more than likely have secured her place for The World Championships in Uzbekistan in August 2019.

Leyla is the only athlete this year to qualify and secure her own place at the European Cadet Championships in Latvia.

With her success and continued commitment she has been invited back for test matches in Manchester for the Olympic Taekwondo Development Programme and also for a training session, for elite athletes only, with the talent scouts for Great Britain. These sessions are by invititation only.

We continue to be very proud of Leyla and her commitment to her sport.
