U14 Boys’ Rugby Tournament

On a very sunny Tuesday afternoon the U14 Rugby team travelled to Caterham school for a 6 aside Touch Rugby festival. Conditions were more like those associated with Cricket, yet despite the heat, the Blenheim students showed determination and resilience by winning two games and drawing the third on their way to the final against Dulwich Prep school. Our small bench perhaps cost us late in the day, some exhausted bodies worked relentlessly, and although we rotated the team as much as possible, Dulwich simply had to many fresh legs and their bigger squad allowed them to run the ball against our tired defenders. It was a valiant performance and Blenheim finished the day runners up, Dulwich beating us 3-1 in the final.

U12 Boys’ Rugby Tournament

The U12 Rugby team travelled to Caterham School for an enjoyable afternoon of rugby, taking on strong opposition from Dunottar School, KCS 1st Team, KCS 2nd Team and Caterham School. The squad performed superbly throughout the festival. Although scores were not officially recorded due to the format of the event, Blenheim remained unbeaten across all of their matches, an impressive achievement considering that many of the boys were playing rugby for the very first time. The team quickly adapted to the game, demonstrating excellent teamwork, determination and sportsmanship throughout the afternoon. Their confidence grew with each match, and they showed great enthusiasm in both attack and defence. A special mention goes to Samson, who was the team's leading try scorer across the festival. However, the success of the day was very much a collective effort, with every player making a valuable contribution and supporting one another throughout. For a group with limited rugby experience, the boys represented Blenheim exceptionally well and should be proud of their performances. The festival provided a fantastic introduction to rugby and was an excellent opportunity for the students to develop new skills while enjoying competitive sport.
